City 2 Surf

Hey guys feel free to post up your suggested training runs for the city 2 surf.

I know the bayrun is 7k so 2 laps is going to get you 14k.  However its as flat as an ironing board :)

Also Gladesville bridge run is 7.2 k from Chiswick… 2 laps of that will do the trick, there is also some nice hills we can incorporate into the run. :)

Any ideas?

    Hi Nate,

I’ve got a few runs around Chiswick, a 5km, 7km, and 10km run which do incorporate some hills and are all road(well pavement) running so are safe to run at any time.

For the runs it is best to organize groups for people at the same level. It is hard to expect someone to run 10km if they have not done it before and its also not fair to expect someone who runs 10km to slow down. So by having groups everyone is at the same level and can help motivate each other.

For those starting out, start with the 5km on week 1, then up to the 7km on weeks 2 and 3, then progress to the 10km on weeks 4 and 5. Up this again to 12km on weeks 6 and which then gets you to run a 14km on week 7 and 8 just before the city to surf.
